« Amour » by Austrian Michael Haneke won five prizes : best film, best script, best actress, best actor at France’s César awards on Friday night.
This drama describes how love tries to fight against illness, and death. George (Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) are a eighty-year-old couple, the two of them are former piano teachers… Their daughter (Isabelle Huppert) cannot realize how fast time goes by. Old age leaves its mark on faces when voices break because of memory loss or a paralysis.

French actors Jean-Louis Trintignant (82 years old ) and Emmanuelle Riva (85 years old) are two icons of French Cinema.
Mrs Riva became famous thanks to her role in Hiroshima mon Amour directed by French film director Alain Resnais and released in 1959. Very touched by the prize she received, here is what she said concerning her César and her film :
